MSI Wind U120: Netbook rocks HSDPA

Netbooks

MSI has just sent us details of a successor to its fantastic Wind U100 netbook. It's called the U120, and although we can't yet confirm its final specs, we can tell you it promises to be a more advanced version of the standard Wind.

According to MSI, the U120 has "a slightly more professional look over the U100". Looking at the photos, it's hard to tell how this manifests itself, but the original Wind was pretty far from unprofessional-looking, so we're not going to argue.

The U120's major selling point is that it comes with an integrated HSDPA (3.5G) mobile broadband adaptor. This, ladies and geeks, could set it apart from the masses. There are a million laptops that are super-small and super-light, but imagine one that's also super-efficient enough to connect to the Internet, no matter what part of the world it's in. That, friends, is the netbook future.

We'll have more news on the U120 when it's released in January, but in the meantime, have a look at these pictures. -Rory Reid
