It's not only Apple and Samsung duking it out in the courts over patent disputes. Now LG and Samsung look set for a showdown.
LG Display has filed an injunction to try and ban the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 in Korea, Dow Jones reports, via SlashGear. Not only that, it's asking for a cool $1m in damages for every day the tablet stays on sale. Every single day. It wouldn't surprise me much if this feud spilled over into other countries.
LG is accusing Samsung of infringing its screen patents to increase viewing angles. "Through this action, LG Display seeks to completely stop the sale, manufacture, and importation of [the] infringing Samsung product," LG said in a statement.
Samsung Display's vice president Shim Jaeboo responded by calling the claims "unjustified" in a statement. He said Samsung wouldn't take this lying down (or that it would respond to the suit, to use more official-sounding language).
But you could accuse Samsung of throwing the first stone. It filed a suit earlier this month in which it accused LG Display of infringing seven of its LCD patents. Seriously, hasn't it learned anything from its previous dealings in court?
These patent cases may be ten a penny, but it's quite rare for a device to actually be banned. Apple won a conclusive victory against Samsung in court last summer for patent infringement, but still didn't succeed in having any of its devices yanked from the shelves. And when a phone or tablet is taken off sale, the decision is usually overturned pretty quickly. In recent tech cases, anyway.
But still, it's a whole new battle in a war that shows no sign of ending. What do you think of these patent cases? Is there another way companies can sort out their disagreements? Let me know in the comments, or on Facebook.

There all at it! It would be nice finish the year on a more tech note (see what I did there). Like companies, Working together not trying to hit each other with stick.
Hopefully 2013 will be the year of new ideas.

It's not only LG and Apple who angry at Samsung for infringing their patents; there are other companies filing against them too.
Even Motorola and their parent Google have issues with Samsung.
