Dell Mini 10 netbook revealed with built-in GPS

CES 2009

Dell has announced the Inspiron Mini 10 -- it's latest foray into the plasticky world of netbooks. It's a 10-inch deal powered by an Intel Atom Z530 processor running at 1.6GHz, with a glass screen, a multi-touch trackpad with gesture support, built-in GPS, 802.11n Wi-Fi, mobile broadband and even an integrated TV tuner.

That glossy 10-inch display can show 720p high-definition content, and the screen itself is a widescreen 16:9 model. An edge-to-edge keyboard helps take advantage of what little typing space is available on a laptop this size, so all being well the Mini 10 won't be out of the question for speed typists.

Dell didn't release many other details at its press conference, but we'd expect Windows Vista or XP, a couple of gigabytes of RAM and a solid-state disk option. No prices or availability details yet, but we'll keep you posted.
