The oft-rumoured '9-inch' version of the super-cheap, Linux-powered Asus Eee PC has just been unveiled at the CeBIT exhibition in Hanover, Germany. The Eee PC 900, as it's to be known, uses an identical chassis to the previous model but ditches the 7-inch display for one that measures 8.9 inches across.
Asus has managed this by replacing the large, black speakers that flanked the previous screen, with thinner, less unsightly ones. Unfortunately there's no word on whether the resolution has been increased from the standard 800x480 pixels, but you do get the option of 1GB of RAM and solid-state hard drives as large as 12GB.
