The long-anticipated tablet iPad has arrived, and Apple CEO Steve Jobs has let us in on some of the specs.
The iPad is 13mm (0.5 inches) thin and weighs 680g. It boasts a 9.7-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen. It isn't 16:9, despite showing widescreen high-definition films and YouTube videos.
Inside is Apple's own A4 1GHz chip. There's 16, 32 or 64GB of flash storage built-in. 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR are built-in, with 3G an optional extra. Jobs pulled up his own location, but that seems to just be via Wi-Fi rather than GPS.
Other features include an accelerometer, compass, speaker and microphone, but no cameras. Jobs claims 10 hours of battery life, and over a month on standby.
