Photos: Asus Eee PC 900 vs Eee PC 701

It's worth noting that the Eee PC 900 doesn't topple backwards as easily as the 701. The 900 is more evenly balanced, so when you tilt the screen away from you it won't fall over -- at least not as readily as its tipsy predecessor.

I have bought the eee 701 4G model and I am very happy with it. It allows me to download photos and having installed 'the gimp' also to manipulate them.
I have, of course upped the RAM (to 2 gig) and added an 8gig SD card.
All my requirements for portable usage are positively ticked and I find no negatives.
It also allows me to do my linux presentations using the projector at 1024x768 resolution.
In all the smaller one does satisfy my needs although dependent on eyesight it might not suit all.

I recently got the 701 model and have been really pleased with it so far. however I am not kicking myself that I was not patient enough to wait for the new 900 model to be released as although they have only made minor changes it seems to have made one hell of a difference, especially in appearances as it no longer looks like a fisher price toy.

Great but why oh why cant manufacturers make stuff that uses bog standard AA batteries so that when you are out somewhere and the batteries die you are not stuck.

I bought a 900 last month - love it. I have also bought (all USB): a flexible keyboard, a DVD-R/W RAM drive, a 250 GB external disk, a modem and a small mouse - and it connects up to my home and work n/w etc - no problems. Battery life OK - haven't really tested it as I usually plug it in and the one I have bought is BLACK.

I'd really like to see these compared with the new HP.
