Samsung Q2 UMPC: Leaked

Laptops

Apparently, our friends at Samsung are working on a sequel to the Q1 ultra-mobile PC. Cleverly dubbed the Q2, the device will feature a host of improvements over its predecessor, including better wireless connectivity and a built-in Qwerty keyboard.

Submitted to Engadget by an anonymous user, this leaked image shows the Q2 in all its glory. It's said to have an unknown Intel CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 60GB hard drive and a 7-inch screen with a 1,024x600-pixel screen -- much like the recently announced Samsung Q1P.

Connectivity and input look very promising. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HSDPA are present, as is WiBro, a close relative of WiMax. The Q2 also comes with a fingerprint scanner for secure logins, two cameras, and an array mic, but none of these has us as excited as the prospect of using a (decent) keyboard. If Samsung gets it right, the Q2 could be the UMPC of choice.

We're expecting to fondle the Q2 at everyone's favourite German tech expo over the next day or two, so keep your eyes peeled for further information. -RR
