Can things get much worse for RIM? The BlackBerry maker has a promotion on for its PlayBook tablets for businesses: buy two, get one free.
The Back to Business promotion, aimed at small businesses, runs from now till the end of the year, reports SlashGear, though sadly there's no word on whether it'll apply to UK businesses. However will they cope?
Don't hold out hopes for BBM messenger working on the device any time soon though -- it's still delayed until a later version of the software update. The PlayBook OS 2.0 update is also delayed, due to it taking longer than RIM planned.
As well as the free PlayBook, those taking advantage of the offer will also receive some accessories: a BlackBerry Leather Sleeve, Charging Pad, or a six-feet long HDMI cable. Call us cynical, but we're not really all that tempted.
If you are a business type and do fancy taking advantage, you'll have to buy from one of the approved retailers listed on BlackBerry.com. As we say, the deal doesn't apply to the UK, but maybe you could ask a friend in the US to help you out.
RIM's been having a tough time of it recently. Last week it announced BBM would still be missing from the 2.0 update to the PlayBook. And that 2.0 update is delayed anyway. Oh, and a company is suing RIM over the name for its upcoming BBX mobile and tablet software. Man.
There is some good news for BlackBerry fans. The Colt looks like being the first handset to run the BBX software. It'll look like the Torch 9860, but without buttons, and be slimmer than the Bold 9900. It's expected in the middle of 2012.
