Photos: Hi-tech solar innovations

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers' training center in San Diego has a rooftop solar electric system that produces all of the building's electricity. The large mounting structure allows the electricians to work underneath the panels easily. And because it's a training facility, they decided to use 19 inverters (hung along the left) that convert direct current to household current, rather than one single large one.
