Energy Innovations is another concentrator company. It, too, started out trying to do rooftop solar systems, but is now focusing on utility-scale power plants. According to the company, using a field of ground-mounted concentrators is 20 percent cheaper than flat-panel photovoltaic panels for regions like the US Southwest that have the right light.
