Got a desk drawer bulging with old printer cartridges? Epson will now send you a Freepost envelope so you can post them off for recycling, provided you're using an Epson printer.
There's already a bunch of charity cartridge recycling schemes including Cartridges4Charity and Traidcraft, plus HP and Dell offer postal cartridge recycling, so Epson is really playing catch-up here.
It says the recycled plastic will be used for new cartridges, and the metal smelted for industrial uses.
To order your Epson Freepost envelopes, just fill in the form here.

I was delighted to find this site as I am committed to recycling and have 28 epson TO801 -TO806 empty cartridges. I sent for envelopes and got 4! I spoke to an advisor and was told the can only send 4 at a time. Do you really want people to take part in this scheme? It's a little off-putting to have to keep filling in the form time after time to get envelopes 4 at a time. I was told to order a box and it would be picked up when it was full but having tracked it down online it does not apply to my type of cartridges. Your scheme is a great idea but couldn't it be simpler? Judy.

Thanks & Best Wishes

I entirely agree with Judy (5.10.10) Why do you have to make it so complicated and time-consuming, just to apply for another FOUR envelopes, in order to return Epson Inkjet Cartridges to you? Jenny.

I am a keen recycler and do go to great lengths to recycle things. I also know people that barely bother to recycle. Things have to be made easy to get lazy recyclers to do it in the first place, so I dont think this complicated system is going to much to encourage them to do it at all. I will however battle tooth and nail to keep up my recycling so I will use "your" system. Come on Epson, sort this out to encourage everyone else to look after our planet too!!

Why when I click "fill in the form here" do I get a message telling me I am forbidden and cannot get any further? Talkl about making it hard for potential recyclers!

I agree with all the previous comments. This is a good idea but seems to have gone wrong now. Wake-up Epson! Why do we get this message telling us we are forbidden and cannot go any further? Why do the envelopes have to only contain ONE cartridge when a lot of printers use four?

Exactly when are you going to do something about all these comments Epson? I am getting so fed-up with the time-wasting exercise of trying (without success) to request the free return envelopes for your inkjet cartridges, that in desperation I am about to throw my last five 'empties' in the dustbin! WHY DO SO MANY OTHER RECYCLING OUTLETS SPECIFICALLY REFUSE TO TAKE EPSON CARTRIDGES? Jenny.

Trying to obtain envelopes to return used cartridges but the website is not available. Will just have to put them in the bin. So much for your advertising!

Thank you for sending the three envelopes - I have five more cartridges to return. Please send a further five envelopes.

Hi recyclers, please note we are NOT Epson - we are a news site reporting the news, and we are not connected with Epson in any way. Please contact Epson with any questions. Thanks and happy recycling!

I cannot find my new printer on your drop down list. Does this mean you haven't up dated it or that I'll have to throw them into my bin and add to costly and enviromentally unfriendly landfill?
