Cardboard boombox wants to be your eco iPod speaker dock

Zeppelin- and LEGO-shaped iPod speaker docks should move aside. This new Boombox cardboard iPod speaker somehow manages to combine eighties fashion, digital music and green kudos in one tidy package.

While the big eco claim is debatable -- it's card instead of plastic, which may or may not make for a smaller carbon footprint -- it certainly has a cute design. Oddly, the Boombox is made from virgin cardboard rather than the recycled good stuff.

On the plus side, it gets delivered flatpack, and you can preorder yours now for £20. Nigel's Eco Store is stocking it and hopes to send out deliveries this November.

Nigel tells me the Cardboard Boombox's compatible with the entire iPod range, including the iPod Classic pictured.
