Top tips for recycling your tech

Green Tech

Here we were thinking that our friends over at CNET.co.uk were a bunch of energy-wasting techies too blinded by their love of electronic gadgets to go green. Turns out we were wrong -- check out their great tips on what to do with your old PCs, mobile phones and other gizmos, the majority of which go to landfill.

CNET’s mobile phone reviewer Andrew Lim explains that electrical and electronic waste is seriously harmful to the environment because of the toxic components these products are made up of.

So why not sell, recycle, donate, upgrade or even re-use, by turning your old monitor into art, or a planter (that’s our personal favourite)? Lim reminds us that there are even some companies, like Dell, that recycle for you, no matter how old or new your tech is. And you never know, you might just make some cash on eBay. Who knew that going green could be lucrative?
