Now this is a treat for Zelda fans: Nintendo is bringing out a 3DS console featuring a Zelda-inspired design. Even better, it'll come with a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. Result.
The bundle is to celebrate the Zelda series' 25th anniversary, reports The Verge.
The outside of the black 3DS is embossed with a gold symbol of Hyrule (the main setting of the series), with other decorative effects around the border. Inside there are additional gold accents on the Power icon and 3D slider.
Even the game is a special edition. It comes in a double sleeve, with the front being the standard design, and the back a gold version.
The game has been on sale in its standard format since June.
The bundle will hit shops on 25 November -- that's two weeks on Friday. There's no price as yet, but we'll bring you more as we hear it. There aren't really any more details about the bundle -- the box says Limited Edition, but it's not clear how many it's limited to. Expect them to go quickly though, as this'll be a real collectors' item.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is a remake of the original N64 classic from 1998. It was initially a demo to show off the 3DS, but was put into production as a full game. The N64 version was a classic -- ask anyone who played it and watch them be overcome with a warm nostalgic glow.
The bundle has only been announced for Europe so far, so it's good news for us Brits for once. Hurrah.

I really want this. I spent several years of my childhood playing the original on N64 and could use the dose of nostalgia.

I totally freaked when I saw this while browsing amazon.fr earlier this week (which I usually don't do because I prefer to play stuff in English even though I'm living in France). I was looking to add a 3DS and Zelda: OOT to my wishlist and couldn't decide on which 3DS console I wanted (the colors are meh) then the perfect thing was put in front of my face, I nearly died. For once EU isn't given the shaft on a video game.
I pre-ordered this baby, and I can't wait. So many good memories from Zelda: OOT, one of my favorite games of all time.
