Photos: Robots at Ceatec 2008

In addition to all the concept mobile phones and paper-thin OLED screens we've been ogling at this year's Ceatec electronics show in Chiba, Japan, we've seen a few robots. Check out our pictures of these futuristic automatons.

Murata Girl, aka Seiko-chan, with her twin sister at Ceatec 2008. She's just one of several robots being demonstrated here at the Japanese electronics show outside of Tokyo. Murata Girl can ride forward and backward at around 50mm per second -- or idle in place. Tiny sensors tell the bot when it's about to bump into something, and gyroscopes on her back, plus a spinning disc embedded in her stomach, help her stay balanced. She can be controlled via a Bluetooth wand (not pictured). -Erica Ogg
