Grand Theft Auto 5 is the fastest-selling video game ever, according to online mega-mart Amazon.
The book-flogging monolith, which is disclosing best-selling lists across games, movies, books and more, says that Rockstar's latest open-world effort is racking up sales faster than any game in the site's illustrious history.
GTA 5 isn't the best-selling game on Amazon ever -- that honour belongs to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 taking the number two and three spots.
Having only been on sale for a month, however, the rapid climb of GTA 5 -- currently in fourth place overall -- suggests it may displace Activision's shooter as the best-selling game of all time.
GTA 5 made a staggering $800m (roughly £495m) on its first day, beating Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which earned $500m upon its debut.
Grand Theft Auto 5 has proved very successful thus far, though the game's online offering has been riddled with issues since its arrival. Critics have called the game innovative and exciting, though the game has also been called out for its occasionally muddled political messages, and less-than-stellar treatment of women.
Amazon is touting its top-selling lists to celebrate its 15th birthday. The omni-present online shop says that the Fifty Shades of Grey books are the best-selling books that the site has ever seen (combining both physical and Kindle copies), beating Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy and The Hunger Games.
Rage Against the Machine's festive Killing in the Name is the best-selling MP3 meanwhile, with Adele, Psy and Carly Rae Jepsen all featuring further down the list. Adele's 21 is the top album to date, taking both physical and digital copies into account.
Adele is also Amazon's top-selling artist ever, with Coldplay and The Beatles settling for second and third place, respectively. Mamma Mia! is Amazon's best-selling DVD, while Despicable Me is Amazon-owned Lovefilm's most-streamed film.
