Rockstar has wished us all happy holidays the only way it knows how: by giving us a fresh batch of Grand Theft Auto 5 screenshots to salivate over.
The screens were posted on the Rockstar site under the headline "Happy Holidays -- Enjoy". So it's not giving us much to go on. But still, who needs explanations when you've got sharks, planes, Rottweilers and more? Click through for the full gallery.
The game looks to be typically gangsterish, with a mean-looking man in a car, and an even meaner dog in the passenger seat. It also looks like water will play a bigger part than in previous games, seeing as one of the shots shows a mini submarine. And what's that lurking below the surface in another? Why it's a massive shark of course, eyeing up a particularly tasty-looking diver. So don't expect the action to let up just because you're underwater.
Series creator Dan Houser has said previously that this will be the biggest Grand Theft Auto to date, with the map being bigger than Red Dead Redemption, GTA San Andreas and GTA 4 combined. And that's all so we can do more flying. What looks like a commercial airliner is pictured alongside a fighter jet, with an airship in the background, so we could potentially take control of all three. Imagine the possibilities.
The final picture sees some pretty bad-looking dudes standing in front of a car at night. One of them is on the phone, and from his expression, it doesn't look like he's ordering a pizza.
Rockstar revealed the second trailer for GTA 5 last month, a full year on from the first.
The game will go on sale in the spring next year, so there's not that long to wait. Are you excited? What would you like to see? Let me know in the comments, or over on our Facebook page.

Will you be able to go into more buildings in GTA 5? In GTA 4 you could hardly go into any.

Games like this is causing gang rapes, gun crime and just normal crime, Surely these should be illegal soon.
Meleagru 27 December, 2012 23:50
I'm pretty sure gang rapes, gun crime and normal crime have been around a lot longer than video games. Making a moronic affirmation that somehow video games have any significant connection to violence is downright ignorant.

Agreed with Meleagru, video games believe it or not are actually very good for our hand & eye cordination, not to mention that they can "take us out of reality" so if you think about it, video games may actually help against crimes.

will you be able to take your dog anywhere you waaant?

I would like to see a possibility of hijacking the airliner with a inside man giving you the weapons needed then using the airliner to do a massive drug run. or being able to go into the airport and get past the security.

This is why we can't have nice things

A minority of people may detach the fantasy of this game and try it in reality but then there has always been nuts around. Films, comics, books... any of these media. Why ban something because of a small small minority. if it wasn't this they'd be silly with something else. As an adult I make my own sensible decisions. I do not need government god parents to legislate everything in my life... Great game. Lets have it.

if you block out the two tail fins the body for the fighter looks exactly like an f-16c

"Moronic affirmation"? That was officially the dumbest term I've ever heard in my life. If it is affirmed, it is true, Meleagru. Say a "moronic assumption," dumbo.

"Games like this is causing gang rapes, gun crime and just normal crime, Surely these should be illegal soon."
Hopefully moronic comments will be illegal sooner.
You, sir/madam, are a buffoon. I cannot write it any less offensive than that, but the sheer level of your buffoonery is astounding. Your above statement has been demonstrably debunked by dozens of researchers, all of whom have arrived at the conclusion that gaming does not make a person any more violent than they already were. The 'gaming creates killers' myth is nothing more than a cure-all used by politicians who are desperately seeking an excuse for their belabouring existence.
Further, I and several of my closest friends have been gaming for over twenty years and not one of us has as much as a parking ticket to our name. In point of fact, when tempers began to flare it is usually either me or them who remains calm the longest.
So you, sir/madam, can continue attributing the evil which exists in this world to games, television, or even books, whilst blatantly refusing to accept the reality that none of the above media have ever been definitively proven to augment the level of pre-existing conditions, or to create new ones where none previously existed.
You have a good day.
