E3 2009

Brian Tong, of our sister site CNET.com, runs us through the main Xbox 360 highlights from Microsoft's keynote press conference at E3 2009, including Project Natal, the heavily rumoured video-based motion control. This aims to take the Wii concept on a stage, with a camera interpreting a startling range of motions and a new character called Milo reacting in a very interesting way.

Xbox Live received a whole bunch of upgrades, including integration with Facebook and Twitter, and the link-up with Sky, which we've covered previously.

Oh, we almost forgot! There were some games announced at the biggest videogame show on Earth. The Beatles: Rock Band was top of the bill, but the shock announcement of a brand-new Metal Gear Solid game, Rising, was a big deal. Also on show were survival horror Alan Wake, racer Forza Motorsport 3, Final Fantasy XIII and a teaser for a new Halo game, entitled Reach.
