Pro Evolution Soccer 5: It's Wayne's World
Check out this new shot from Pro Evolution Soccer 5, with Wayne Rooney looking every bit as deadly as he is in real life. The new game will be topping a lot of wish lists at the moment, especially as there are no Premiership games to tide us over, but we'll have to wait until 28 October to see how the world's best sports game could possibly be improved.
It's a relatively long wait, but importers who want to get their practise in early and learn a bit of Japanese at the same time can import the Japanese release from 4 August. Even after all this time, though, Konami still doesn't have the common sense to replace the word 'soccer' with 'football'. Still, in Japan the game is called Winning Eleven 9, which is even more peculiar.
A quick browse of Amazon reveals an even more exciting possibility -- that a PSP version will go on sale at the same date. The possibility of being able to play Pro Evo anywhere is enough to give us wobblier knees than Bruce Grobbelaar in a penalty shootout (ask your dad). We can't wait. -GC
