Twitter: Microblogging menace
What are you doing right now? Hmm. How about now? Now?

Annoying, isn't it? Twitter launched in October 2006, and is headed by Jack Dorsey. The concept, like so many great ideas, is simple: tell the world what you are doing right now, in 140 characters or less. Unfortunately, this is actually a terrible idea. The world doesn't need to know what everybody is doing right now, and the always-connected micro-blogger needs to have a serious word with himself.

Of course, there are times that Twitter is a useful tool; it's excellent for liveblogging big events like a Steve Jobs keynote. Sadly, those are exactly the times that it doesn't work.
