Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) televisions are so the future. In fact they're so so the future they're still pretty small. Kodak has cottoned on to the fact that a digital photo frame is basically a tiny television and boom! It's the Kodak OLED Wireless Frame!
Doing exactly what it says on the tin, the world's first wireless OLED frame boasts a 193mm (7.6-inch), 16:9 panel with 800x480-pixel resolution. OLEDs give better colour depth and saturation than LED technology, and the Kodak frame has a white-to-black ratio of up to 30,000:1.
The frame packs 2GB of onboard internal memory. You can transfer images from digital cameras, memory cards, USB drives or via Wi-Fi. Yes, the wireless option allows you to scoop pictures and multimedia content from wireless devices, other computers, or straight from the Internet. This includes video -- with sound -- RSS support, and links to online photo sites such as Flickr.
Like its televisual bredren, the Kodak OLED Wireless Frame isn't cheap at £600. It'll be available at Kodak's Web site in the run-up to Christmas, and on shelves soon. If you don't have a monkey and a ton in your sky-rocket, Kodak has a sale on frames until Monday. -Rich Trenholm
