Back To The Future Nike Air Mag shoes are real

The future is here -- four years early. Nike is about to unveil the Nike Air Mag, Marty McFly's self-lacing shoes from 2015, as seen in Back To The Future II.

Nike has already patented a self-lacing system, and judging by a teaser video -- posted by mad scientist Doc Brown himself -- the futuristic trainers are about to become real. Nike is holding a press conference later today.

The teaser video is called McFly's Closet, showing a walk-in wardrobe full of those famous sneakers. The video is posted by YouTube user DocEmmettBrown88, who says the racks and racks of kicks "look like shelves and shelves of 2011 Nike MAG shoes".

Nike has issued an invitation to the trainer-lovin' folks at Nice Kicks, in the form of a personal greeting from Doc Brown. In the box are some 80s sweets, a bottle of Pepsi from 1985, and a copy of the film. Oh, and some sweet future Doc Brown silvered wraparound shades.

Doc Brown has obviously taken a break from advertising Argentinian tech shops to work on the trainers. But the question remains: where are our hoverboards?

TIme to make a like a tree and get out of here. Are you excited about the Back To The Future trainers? Hit the road down to the comments section or our Facebook page. Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
