We're going Down Under for this, the eighth episode of Planet CNET, where lovely Aussie Ella Morton wrangles the latest hot gadgetry from the US, Germany and France.

Kara Tsuboi gets into the trenches of the Robot Fighting League and is somewhat incredulous over the passion and expenditure involved. Also watching their wallets are our friends from CNET Germany, who are tired of rising petrol prices and getting the windblown look from the speed limit-less Autobahn.

They're still feeling the need for speed though, so watch the video to find out how they keep their mullets and coinage in check while still keeping some street cred. Louise Ghegan from CNET France has an alternative for gamblers, meanwhile, and it has a Scooby Doo twist that could confuse even the Mystery, Inc team. Rut-roh!
