The 20 greatest slow-motion videos ever

Nature is a ferocious beast, but a rather slow-moving one for the most part. Here are two of the more rapid examples of spectacular natural phenomena.

The perfect storm
When it's not killing humans, nature is quite pretty. Here we see hundreds of thousands of amperes of electrical current, slowed to the speed of a snail.

Adventures with non-Newtonian fluid
A non-Newtonian fluid can become solid under stress (rather than freezing), which is called shear thickening. Here we see cornflour and water in an alarming slow-motion tango, atop a hi-fi subwoofer.
