Glass tombstones: light after death

Gadgets

After last week's trip through the lights fantastic, we were delighted to discover the glass tombstones at Lundgren Monuments. Why settle for plain old granite when you can have a "luminescent, organic, rugged and incredibly beautiful" cast glass monument?

Disappointingly, the tombstones don’t actually light up, except when struck by a passing sunbeam. We're not sure whether that's a concession to taste or practicality. Modern cemeteries are smothered in nasty plastic flowers and over-the-top wreaths, so a little neon wouldn't be out of place. Lundgren also makes cast glass signs with embedded LEDs, so the technology is available -- but power might be a problem.

More realistically, we'd like to see a glass tombstone that absorbs light during the day and glows gently at night, like Suck UK's Glow Brick. Your spirit could be a beacon in the dark for your grieving relatives, literally as well as figuratively. -ML
