Nicole Kidman's daughter helped her pick her top ten iTunes songs, which range from The Wind Cries Mary by Jimi Hendrix through to Pink's 18 Wheeler. This is the sort of information that would normally only be available to you if you'd pick-pocketed Kidman's iPod, but iTunes Celebrity Playlists make it available to everyone. Apple have spent the last few months bolstering this part of the iTunes store with new interviews.
It's hard to stifle laughter at the discovery that actor Russell Crowe has picked his own song as his number one iTunes track. But piano-rock superstar Ben Folds steered clear of nominating himself and opted for tracks like ELO's Turn to Stone, describing it as "Fun. Ahead of it's time. Bitchin' production. Chicks dig it".
Robert Rodriguez, director of Sin City, seems to have picked the soundtrack to some future action flick he's got in the works. Tracks like Motley Crue's Kickstart My Heart are the musical equivalent of a gunfight, and he's picked plenty in the same ilk.
So, how do you get your hands on all this celebrity endorsed pop? Scroll right down to the end of the iTunes Music Store in the iTunes program and you'll find the playlists in the left-hand corner. Get famous and maybe your playlist will be relevant to us: until then, listen in obscurity. -CS
