Cowon S9: Available from Friday in the UK

MP3 Players

The most hyped Cowon media player for some time -- the S9 -- is passing UK customs as we speak, and will finally be in stock this Friday. Advanced MP3 Players will be carrying the first units, and hope to be able to deliver S9s to homes across the country on Monday or Tuesday next week.

For those of you who need your neurons and synapses massaging, the S9 is the curvy new music and video player from Cowon. If you've not heard of Cowon, you're missing out on some of the best-sounding audio players on the market.

The S9 will come in 8GB and 16GB capacities, costing £169 and £199 respectively. It's got a 84mm (3.3-inch) touch-sensitive AMOLED screen, support for MP3, WAV, WMV, FLAC, OGG and APE audio files, WMV video files (plus others to be confirmed), stereo Bluetooth and 55 hours of claimed battery life.

But even more importantly, the S9 is touted to be the best-sounding MP3 player in history. Apparently Cowon's own CEO -- Namkyu Park -- has personally supervised the S9's audio capabilities.

CNET UK will be the first in the country to bring you an in-house hands-on within the next few days, so check back. You can pre-order your own at Advanced MP3 Players now to reserve your model, and snag free next working day delivery if you live in the UK.
