Sony Walkman struts around posh London gallery

MP3 Players

There is a special world, hidden to most, in which journalists live on a diet of canapes and white wine for weeks on end, and girls with Daria fringes and eyes like vampires discuss Jack White's shoes. Yes, this is the land of gallery openings, and last night Crave crashed The Sony Gallery in Camden, where previously unseen photographs of Kurt Cobain smashing a drum kit into matchwood are hung.

Inside, the bohemians were packed like tinned frankfurters -- with every tenth frankfurter a celebrity. The wise and famous stayed inside a specially designed holding pen, enclosed by velvet rope. Unfortunately there was no popcorn available -- there's nothing more endearing than a cute little celebrity taking popcorn from your hand before scampering away up a nearby tree.

Sony's PR SWAT team had Walkman NW-A1000s primed and ready in their bags, and, yes, the players were cooler than ten bears. Expect a full review next week. -CS

Update: a full review of the Sony Walkman NW-A1000 is now live.
