Samsung i7: Camera and tour guide in one

It's getting harder every day to make a camera that stands out from the crowd. So hats off to Samsung for doing just that with its new i7, which combines a super-small camera with a Lonely Planet-style travel guide.

Picture the scene: you're in Paris for a romantic weekend getaway with your better half, but you bought the tickets to say sorry for something, so you haven't had time to plan anything.

There'd be no need to worry if you had the i7, with its suggestions like 'visit Eiffel Tower' or 'buy baguettes'. It has a database of 2,600 things to do covering 30 countries, which you can update via the Internet.

There are other gimmicks, too. A 76mm (3-inch), swivelling touchscreen is the most interesting, which Samsung says is useful for watching movies loaded on SD cards. There's software in the box to help you convert movie files to versions that the camera can show. Oh, and there's an MP3 player too.

Camera-wise, it has 7.2 megapixels, an anti-shake feature to help keep blurry pictures at bay and ISO 1600 support for taking better shots in the dark.

Expect to see the i7 appear in March for £249.99. We'll bring you a full review soon.
