It's hard to believe that a manufacturer would release a megazoom camera without mechanical image stabilisation, but Fujifilm did with the FinePix S1000fd. The 10-megapixel, 12x optical zoom camera gets it the second time around, though, with the follow-up FinePix S1500.
As well as dual image stabilisation to help control shake and movement of that long lens, the S1500 also has Fujifilm's automatic scene recognition.
Otherwise, the camera is similar to its predecessor, featuring manual adjustment options for various camera settings, including resolution, ISO, aperture and shutter speed. It also has face detection, high-speed, continuous shooting at reduced resolutions, and a panoramic shooting mode.
UK pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
