Say hello to the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS25, the latest in the new tranche of Lumix models just announced. It's a 12.1-megapixel point-and-shoot cameras that doesn't settle for mediocrity, with a massive screen and a wide-angle lens.
The lens has a satisfyingly broad 29mm wide-angle equivalent to a 35mm camera, extending out to a 5x optical zoom for longer shots. Panasonic's highly capable mega OIS system usually has two modes of image stabilisation, and now features an auto mode to select according to the zoom ratio being used.
Automatic mode is a big selling point on this model, with a handy iA button up top that switches the camera into doing-everything-for-you mode. This includes intelligent exposure, which suppresses blocked shadows and blown highlights, automatic backlight compensation, and fetching your slippers. Panasonic has also added a new autofocus tracking function, which allows you to lock focus on to a moving subject.
