It helps to have friends in high places. It means we get taken to exotic locations via helicopter to rub shoulders with celebrities and race shiny cars that go very fast. Occasionally knowing the right people helps Crave get its hands on the latest kit before anyone else, too. Hence our acquisition of the BenQ DC X600 -- allegedly the world's smallest 6-megapixel camera.
We've been using it constantly for the last couple of days now and we're very impressed. It's only 19mm thick (less than a pack of cards), so it's incredibly easy to take with you on your travels. It was no hassle at all to pull it out of our shirt pockets, take impromptu shots of our colleagues' drunken antics, and show them off on the excellent 64mm (2.5-inch) TFT screen.
BenQ probably isn't the first name that springs to mind when you think of digital cameras, but the DC X600 uses a Pentax Super-Multi Coating (SMC) lens to help it capture excellent images. The level of detail captured was impressive, and unless you're a complete image-quality geek, you won't find many reasons to complain.
