AstroScope 9350 series: Night-vision adaptors for digital SLRs

Digital Cameras

Electrophysics has created two adaptors that can make your Canon or Nikon digital SLR snap pictures in the dark. Such an application isn't new, and has previously been implemented in surveillance and video cameras for recording footage in the dark. But the AstroScope 9350 adaptors are specially designed to be used with dSLRs.

These night-vision systems fit between the camera body and the lens. A central intensifier unit illuminates the scene dramatically even if there's only a weak light source. Theses adaptors maintain the electrical connections required for image stabiliser operation and autofocus by the optics.

Electrophysics hasn't announced the pricing and availability of the AstroScope on its Web site, but we don't think such a niche product will be cheap.
