Digital Cameras

Making exciting low-end cameras is a difficult task, but Fujifilm is giving it a shot with the FinePix J20 and J250 (pictured). Both are 10-megapixel ultra-compacts with automatic scene recognition, face detection, sensitivity up to ISO 1,600 at full resolution, and image stabilisation -- mechanical- and ISO-based on the J250, but ISO-based only on the J20.

That, of course, isn't where the differences end. The J20 is the more basic of the two, providing a 69mm (2.7-inch) LCD and 3x optical zoom, while the J250 has a 76mm (3.0-inch) LCD and a wideangle 28mm lens with a 5x zoom.

Available in April 2009, the J20 will be available in black or silver versions for an as-yet-undisclosed price. The fuller-featured J250 will be available in black only, while its UK pricing and availability are yet to be disclosed.
