Moneual Imagine: Stylish, cylindrical Media Center PC

Prepare to hit the plastic: this is a Media Center PC that you might actually consider putting next to your TV. It sits in a hand-crafted, aluminium shell that's gorgeous to look at and good to stroke (who you calling a weirdo?).

The centrepiece of the I*magine (yes, it's a very stupid spelling) is a 7-inch touchscreen, which you can use to control playback to your TV, along with a remote control and keyboard. Alternatively, you could treat it as a portable TV and watch everything on the touchscreen, as there are a couple of small speakers built in.

The circular computer has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in, so the idea is that you copy all your content to the computer, then use it as the centre of your audio, video and image worlds. Available with 500GB or 1TB hard disks inside, room for heaven knows how much video content, and it plays DVDs too.

It runs Windows Media Center, although Moneual will offer a model with its own alternative version of the software. It will be released in March, with a price of between $2,000 and $3,000 (£1,000-£1,500), depending on the spec. Yes it's expensive, but it is lovely. -Jason Jenkins
