Every now and then someone makes something so extraordinary it makes you think "wow, that's amazing." But that's usually followed by furrowed brows and people asking "why did they even bother?"
That's exactly what happened when Crave saw the Fit PC Slim -- purportedly the smallest computer in the world. It measures an extremely pocket-friendly 119mm x 114.3mm x 41mm, which is roughly the same dimensions as a compact camera. It's not the smallest PC we've seen though -- that award goes to the Space Cube, but it unfortunately can't be bought in shops.
Despite its petiteness, the Fit PC Slim has most of the features you find on a larger machine. It has a whopping 3 USB ports, an ample 60GB 2.5-inch hard drive, up to 512MB of RAM, an Ethernet port, 802.11b/g wireless, a mini serial port, VGA output and headphone and mic jacks.
The Slim runs either Linux or Windows XP, but we'd opt for the former since the 500MHz AMD Geode LX800 isn't going to win any speed awards. Pricing for the Linux version with the above spec will cost you $295 (£160), while the XP model will set you back $335 (£183).
