Dell Studio: Bedsit desktop PCs

Desktops

Remember the Dell Studio Hybrid desktop we checked out a couple of months back? Sexy, wasn't it? Now Dell has decided to expand the range, with its Studio Slim and Studio desktops.

Unfortunately, Dell's dropped the sexiness and replaced it with a fat dose of ordinary. We don't know about you, but we reckon the Studio fat looks like every other desktop PC we've seen since 1843, and while the Studio Slim is passable, it's definitely not going to aid your chances of procreation.

But hold the phone! Dell has crammed plenty of decent tech inside the new Studios, and is charging virtually nothing for them. The entry-level Studio Slim packs an Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, and an HDMI port for under £400. The entry-level Studio has a similar spec but costs a mere £340, due to its Core 2 Duo E2200 2.2GHz CPU and 250GB hard drive. As ever, you can customise both machines to Dell and back with all manner of components, including Blu-ray drives.

They're both available to buy now, direct from Dell. We'll endeavour to get a couple in for testing, so we can write some sort of review. In the meantime, go read our reviews of the Studio 15 and Studio 17 laptops. -Rory Reid
