Video: How the Toyota Prius hybrid works

Ever wondered how the Toyota Prius hybrid car works? Us too -- that's why we followed the wonderfully named Gerald Killman, Toyota's powertrain engineer, all over Geneva until he spilled the beans in a step-by-step manner.

Apparently it has something to do with a battery, an electric motor, an exhaust-heat recirculation system, and a special type of engine that uses something called the Atkinson Cycle. Have a look for yourself, then go and impress your mates with your newfound knowledge.
