Range Rover Evoque pricing confirmed, piggy banks tremble in fear

Time to start rifling down the back of the sofa, people -- Land Rover's come clean about the price of its sexpot Range Rover Evoque, and it ain't cheap. Prices for the uber-stylish sports utility vehicle will start at £27,995 for the entry-level model, rising to £44,320 for the high-end edition.

The Evoque will be available in five-door and three-door coupé versions, each of which will come in one of three design themes -- 'pure', 'prestige' and 'dynamic'. Pure will feature a 'contemporary' aesthetic, prestige will offer a luxury feel, and the dynamic option will have a sporty look about it. 

The eD4 Pure five-door six-speed manual will be the most affordable of the bunch. You can spot this model by the high-gloss black detailing across the tailgate and along its waistline, the dark finish on the front grille and side fender blades, and 18-inch sparkling silver alloy wheels. The three-door coupé model will also have bonnet vents.

Inside, pure models have leather-bound seats, a brushed-aluminium centre console, an 8-inch high-res touchscreen, an 11-speaker Meridian audio system with a subwoofer, push-button start, Bluetooth audio streaming, and two audio ports for connecting music via an external USB hard disk.

The prestige model, which starts at £36,625, increases the size of the pimpin' with 19-inch 'diamond turned' alloy wheels, a full leather interior that comes in a variety of colours, and noticeably better tech. 

Customers will get a hard-disk-based sat-nav system with voice control, a disk-based audio server for storing uncompressed digital music files, a rear camera so you can check out the hot stranger behind you, front-parking sensors, and lights and wipers that come on automatically when needed.

The dynamic option, which starts from £38,380, comes with 20-inch rims, phat body-coloured sills and bumpers, and contrasting black wing mirrors. This offering will feature Land Rover's 'Adaptive MagneRide' suspension system, which uses computers to change the level of suspension, damping up to 50 times per second to give you the best compromise of sporty handling and a comfortable ride.
