Behold: Eyelashes for your car

Car modification is nothing new. Boy racers pimp their rides with alloy wheels, tasteless men dangle dog testicles from the backs of their cars and every year, the entire British nation sticks red noses to their bonnets in the name of charity.

All of these things pale in comparison, however, to the jaw-dropping awesomeness that is Car Lashes -- eyelashes for your car. No, seriously. Not only do they exist, but someone's actually flogging them online for $24.99 (£16.24) a pop.

Available from the fashionistas over at carlashes.com, the flexible plastic protrusions are designed to be the ultimate in feminine style -- we think. They can be fitted to just about any type of headlights using double-sided tape and, once attached, you can even spruce them up with an optional crystal "eye liner" for added hilarity.

They're a million miles away from the sort of high-tech car accessories we'd normally make a beeline for, but there's something about these bizarre add-ons that compelled us to share them with you (thanks, Dub Daily!).

What do you think? Are they completely pointless or are they a harmless means of expressing your inner doofus? Hit play on the embedded video below and -- once you've finished rolling on the floor laughing -- let us know what you think in the comments below.

Are these DFT approved though? ... Surely if they decide to ban HID kits cause of beam patterns these could possibly affect beam patterns or something...hmm

Did a double take when I saw them the other day. Know my Malachy will suit them but considering my big hunky fiancée drives my motor most of the time he wouldn't be impressed and his workmates would rip the crap. Dilemma!! My car, though he's a boy car, bigger dilemma!!!

I love them - have them on my VW Beetle. With the roof down and these babies fluttering I am flashed out of any side turning, by men only of course ;-)

For the brave and the confident only, you WILL get noticed! x

These look absolutely GORGEOUS... I bought a pair for my Peugeot 807 and I LOVED them, but sadly they only lasted 1 journey.. My 20 stone bodybuilder hubby (who was driving) was NOT impressed with all the gapes & giggles we attracted. Besides, on the motorway they flapped about that much they damaged the paintwork..
Hubby ripped them straight off - GUTTED !!

Oh WOW!!! Saw a pair of eyelashes on a car yesterday and thought I was seeing things!!! Love them!! Want them!! Now!! I drive a gold Range Rover, not the most 'girly' car, maybe, but it's gonna look 'girly' when the eyelashes arrive!! Can't wait!
