Photos: Volvo's DRIVe eco cars (C30, S40, V50)

V50 Sportswagon
Volvo's eco estate comes in with emissions of 118g/km and 62.8mpg. It's up against cars such as Skoda's New Fabia Estate, which is rated at 109g/km.

Volvo also promises the DRIVe cars will be good for local air pollution. All its new diesel cars are being fitted with particle filters which it claims trap 95 per cent of all soot particles. Since particulates from diesel are a big health and environmental concern, the move gets a thumbs-up from SmartPlanet.
