It just keeps coming... CNET.co.uk has yet another competition for you gadget-crazy nerds. We're giving away a Sony HDR-HC3 hi-def camcorder to one lucky reader, completely for free.
It's official -- high definition is here. In the last few days we've seen Samsung's BD-P1000 Blu-ray player, Panasonic's 'Full HD' projector, the PT-AE1000E, and more HD Ready tellies than you can shake your super-stylish remote at. All you need now is the ability to create your own HD footage.
Sony's HDR-HC3 is a hi-def camcorder that is small enough to fit in your jacket pocket. It resembles a typical high-end consumer DV camcorder and can record 1080i HD video in HDV format, although it also supports standard-definition MiniDV video. It incorporates Sony's new 2-megapixel ClearVid CMOS sensor and a Carl Zeiss lens, and it boasts a whole host of outputs -- HDMI, component video and i.Link.
If you want super-sharp holiday footage, are thinking of producing your own short films, or just want to get up close and personal with the whiskers on your gran's chin, the Sony HDR-HC3 will more than suffice.
Entering the competition is easy. Visit our Win Things page in Digital Living, click on the 'Win a Sony HDR-HC3 hi-def camcorder!' competition and answer the easy question in the purple box. If you guess correctly you'll go into the draw to win the camcorder.
You must be 18 to enter and the competition closes on 30 November, so click through now and you could be filming your own hi-def footage by Christmas. Good luck! -KM
