Beats mixr mixes Beats by Dre and David Guetta

Beats by Dr Dre welcomes a new set of ostentatious headphones to its gaudy stable -- the Beats mixr are a set of cans with DJ chops, built in collaboration with French roof-raiser David Guetta.

Styled like the rest of the bass-heavy Beats line, one of the mixr's earcups swivels around on a hinge, so you can hear whether or not your audience has given up and gone home.

We quite like the design, which appears to come in both black and white options, with matte or gloss coatings. Often headphones with more complicated stylings or swivelling earcups are let down by plasticky parts, so we're hoping these feel sturdy when we give them the full review treatment.

Beats has previously teamed up with musical luminaries such as Sean 'Diddy' Combes, Lady Gaga and, er, Justin Bieber.

The Beats line-up is a mixed bag, with some of the headphones sounding rather muddy, but others blew us away with their thumping bass and impressive clarity. Fingers crossed the mixr falls into the latter camp.

As you'd expect from something with this much swanky red cabling, the mixr is a shade on the pricey side. Specifically, you'll be shelling out £250 for the privilege of adorning your bonce with these boisterous 'phones.

They'll be available to buy in HMV shops in October, or you can pick 'em up from the Beats website if you're too busy mixing block-rockin' PH-fat beats in your bedroom to leave the house.

Anyone who spends 250 on a set of cans like this is a retard/fashion victim (delete as applicable) - AKG and Sennheiser piss all over Beats for quality and are half the price

Hahaha that last comment was so stupid. well, go on! buy your stupid sennheisers or AKG's, but they wont ever look as cool as beats.. (btw ive heard sennheisers and theyre pretty incredible) I know that anyone who buy beats, buy em just becaudse of the looks, not the sound...

i like this..
The Beats product line by Dr.Dre has numerous kinds of headphones. You will discover the professional studio headphones - the Beats Studio. The Beats Solo is a less costly alternative for the Solo. Though the Beats Solo doesn't give the identical audio high quality as the Beats Studio, it should satisfy the typical consumer.

These are very good and is a world apart from the muddy sounding piece of **** that is the studios. These headphones are on par with the pros.

This so far is the best headphone.. I owned all of the beats over-ears.. but the mixr is just awesome.. better than the pros.. they have high mids and highs.. Though they are uncomfortable.. it's really tight on your ears..

the mixrs blow the studios away, i have both and i am selling the studios. the mixrs sound absolutely perfect with my iphone 4s and the eq on electronic. incredible headphones, you will love them! these are very comparable if not better than the sennheiser hd-25 for sound quality.

had the mixr sound is very good , but you could not keep them on your ears for long, too much pressure because they are on ears, very little cushion, your ears will be numb within 30 mins. of listening, overall good sound and no leakage, went back to my studios , they are very comfy but leak sound, but im ok with that. hope this review helps...
