WEEE Man: not so tiny
"Sweet God, what the hell is this?", you are no doubt asking yourself, dear reader. It is the WEEE Man, built by Canon and currently sitting on the bank of the Thames oppostive Crave HQ. It's made of three tonnes of waste electrical equipment -- the same quantity that each one of us will throw away during our lifetime.
The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Man is seven metres tall and if he could actually move, he'd be yelling at you not to squander the world's resources by failing to recycle your waste electronics.
According to Canon, the average UK citizen produces 3.3 tonnes of waste in their lifetime. That's apparently the equivalent of 160 mobile phones. Canon have developed a squad of heavily armed WEEE men to patrol metropolitan areas and hunt down and kill consumers who are careless with their old gear. Is a painful evisceration at the hands of a brutal robot death-squad really worth it? The choice is yours. -CS
