Ladies, geeks, petrolheads -- we're proud to present a video of the most technologically advanced car we've ever driven. Meet the Jaguar XKR Portfolio edition. Jag might be owned by Ford, but it still builds its beautiful cars right here in the UK, in glamorous Coventry, so get ready for some world-class boasting.
This car literally drives itself. Just point it in the right direction, and its Adaptive Cruise Control will automatically brake and accelerate for you. If the car in front brakes suddenly, the XKR uses microwave radar technology to detect this and activates its own brakes, too. When the lame-brain in front speeds up again, the Jag accelerates to keep up with the flow of traffic. It's like night-rider, but much much sexier.
No car is complete without a decent sound system, and the Jag has the best we've heard in any non-modified car. Its speakers are built by Bowers & Wilkins -- the dudes who kitted out the Beatles' Abbey Road recording studio. And it runs in full Dolby Logic II surround sound. And it's LOUD!
The 4.2-litre supercharged V8 engine and quad-port exhaust make a pretty good noise, too. The raspy-but-refined snarl is quite frankly the sexiest thing we've heard in years. Not that you'll have that much time to pay much attention -- the Jag XKR Portfolio does the 0-60 leap in 4.9 seconds and would nudge 200mph if it wasn't electronically limited to 155mph. All for a mere £75,597. -Rory Reid

AnonymousSun 16 March, 2008 3:29pm
YOU HAD THIS MACHINE FOR THE WEEKEND KID ? NICE. VERY NICE ! I WONDER ABOUT ITS RELIABILTY THOUGH. GO JAG.
Rory ReidSun 16 March, 2008 9:19pm
Germans? Who's German?
AnonymousMon 17 March, 2008 1:38pm
Everyone knows that Germans make Jag. But thats besides the point. As great as the jag look and I admit its a great car, you still insist on ignoring great american motors. CNET readers American cars are great, look to the Ford Shelby. American cars rules.
AnonymousMon 17 March, 2008 1:44pm
So Rory and all you at CNET you still continue to 'Riding Dirty on the American car. The disrepect you keep thro'ing down we do not deserve. YOU SUCK A** H***
AnonymousMon 17 March, 2008 2:26pm
I think you'll find they're made in Coventry, England. Which is nowhere near Germany. You absolute RETARD.
Rory ReidMon 17 March, 2008 2:29pm
I've reviewed an American car.. It's called the Ford Focus CC-3. I said it was very good. Now get back in your box.
AnonymousMon 17 March, 2008 3:22pm
You arrogant patronizing A** H***, i have seen your review, and you did not give it the props it deserve. CNET should reprimand you for treating the greatest car industry in the world as if we are second rated. ROCK ON AMERICAN< ROCK ON
AnonymousMon 17 March, 2008 3:27pm
When will someone at CNET grow some B***s? Your silence on this matter is only adding fuel to Rory's fire, the ford focus should have been given the same grandstanding as the jag. FORD RULES the auto world. and no I do not work for ford.
AnonymousMon 17 March, 2008 3:33pm
Rory your review is great. You American should learn to speake english. We have no idea what your complaints are half the time. Thro'ing down? whats that?
AnonymousMon 17 March, 2008 3:38pm
So now we are TARDS for demanding that we get fair share of the reviews you do? We so totally deserve it. American cars are totally awesome.
Rory ReidMon 17 March, 2008 3:54pm
Bearing in mind 1 in 6 of the cars we've tested so far is made by an American manufacturer.... And Americans make up less than 1 in 6 of the Earth's population... Yes... i'd say there's some TARD-ness going on.
AnonymousMon 17 March, 2008 4:23pm
You cannot deny the fact, American rules the world, and that includes the car industry. Britain lost its empire we did not take it from you. Stop punishing our car industry. Power has gone to your head Rory. The ford focus deserve a great review not just a good review. American cars ROCK.How bout that, huh?
AnonymousTue 18 March, 2008 6:19pm
Whats the matter with you people?
This is CNET.co.uk not .com - If you dont like the fact that Rory has only done one review of an American car you can always go and watch the reviews on your US version of CNET.
When did Car Tech become a soap box for irate Americans to spout nonsense about 'America being the best country in the world' - If you cant handle that an English journalist working for an English based site is reviewing more English and European cars then maybe you should step away from the computer rather than throwing your toys out of the pram at every review.
Also for such a great nation the Vietnamese sure handed you your A** on a plate.
Oh and the world hates you.
Phill ThumpWed 19 March, 2008 11:34am
I'm sorry but any nation that votes in such a mind-boggling retarded president MORE THAN ONCE deserves all the mockery it gets!
"Gee honey, I'm bored... lets go bomb the living s*** out of another poor third-world country!"
Yee...haw...

DUDES!! Chill out! we got no beef with you. We got beef with Rory and all the Whack Jobs at CNET. You have to be consistent in offering your readers what they want. THE WANT AN an AWESOME AMERICAN CAR review.
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 1:05pm
You Brits are totally NUTS. So check this out dudes, we might have lost a couple of skirmishes but we did not loose an entire empire. Our cars deserves better than a good review. Rory should dedicate an entire month just doing American cars.
YHEE HAW!! suck on that A** H***
Phill ThumpWed 19 March, 2008 1:44pm
"THE WANT AN an AWESOME AMERICAN CAR review"
Fair enough man... aint that what cnet.com is for though?? Thought cnet.co.uk was for UK-focussed content???
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 3:13pm
Rory you brought your 'A' Game to this review. Good job dude, Now stop 'JACKING' the American car industry! Our cars are great, I bet the first decent car any of you Brits ever 'PIMPED' was an American car. Get real dudes. Our cars Kick some serious A**
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 3:22pm
You Brits are totally loony. Its called the World Wide Web. American so totally own the World. We invented the World Wide Web. I argue that our car deserve its place of prominence.
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 3:27pm
Phil Thump, you got jokes dude. Rory continue to diss our car industry, What do you think this will do to our special relationship next time another country try to to jack you guys up? Who's got your back? D**n straight dude its the Americans. Embrace that.
Phill ThumpWed 19 March, 2008 3:53pm
"We invented the World Wide Web" - I take it none of you have heard of Tim Berners-Lee, the widely accepted 'Father' of the World Wide Web??
Seriously though, CNET.com is a place for American-based reviews and CNET.co.uk is dedicated to a UK audience. If you're looking for stuff bigging up the American car manufacturers, look on the American version of the site!! I don't really think that you can criticise this site for not giving enough attention to American readers when its entire purpose is to serve people who would rather read about UK-related stuff!
Im not even going to bother arguing with you lot about America bailing the UK out... Im still trying to figure out how a country is able to 'jack up' another country... Surely that involves some pretty heavy duty lifting equipment??
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 5:04pm
We are here to stay. America rock. Cnet is showing poor judgement, and I hope you are not speaking on their behalf. We like CNET.co.uk. Rory still sucks but he's got game and knows how to bring it. So whats wrong with having someone good review our cars. A** W***
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 7:45pm
Rory is no MackDaddy. He is just a review B**ch and CNET.co.uk is pimping him out the highest review bidder. So the dude got style and can hang. Does that give him the right to ignore American cars. Betcha your A** not. Review our Gad dang car B**ch
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 7:56pm
I am pretty sure that it is inaccurate for you to say CNET.co.uk and its content is only for UK members. That would be excluding a world wide audience. You guys should not think to punish everyone because of some nutcase with too much time on their hands. Great job Rory keep it coming.
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 8:00pm
Hey Rory you should make pissing off the yanks a full time occupation. Keep sticking it to the RETARD.
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 8:11pm
Why dont you Brits MAN UP to the fact that American cars are the creme de la creme. We are top of our game when it come to Autos. You guys should respect that. That review you did of the great ford focus was insulting
AnonymousWed 19 March, 2008 11:14pm
1. How many of you Americans have actually driven a European car?
2. Most of your English is shocking, have you thought about getting yourselves educated. It helps you in everyday life.
3. Are you really this patriotic or is this some hilarious 'in joke' that only internet type folk understand? For the love of humanity I hope that it is the latter.
4. Rather than just saying 'Our cars iz da best innit lolz - why don't any of you Ker-razy Americans back it up with some thought provoking comments. Ok so you have one or two muscle cars that look cool but rather than just typing random crap why don't you compare and contrast them with their European counterparts and make useful suggestions.
5. Rory, great job. All of the cars reviewed so far have been interesting but the Jag was just plain beautiful!
AnonymousThu 20 March, 2008 12:25am
European cars are death on wheels, have you seen the size of those things? They would be roadkill on Any American highway. Thats why Rory should review a great American ride. American cars are like our mancaves. built tough.
Gotta give it to ya Rory, the jag was smokin
AnonymousThu 20 March, 2008 11:15pm
Your reckoning of Big=Good explains why you are all so fat
Rory ReidTue 25 March, 2008 3:47pm
Come come now, children. play nicely. Not all Americans are fat.
AnonymousTue 3 June, 2008 5:41pm
The lot of you just need to grow up. It's a BRITISH site not AMERICAN, so all you Americans who are ripping on Rory because he does British car reviews and not American cars need to grow up. He's British and working for a British site, not an American site so why should he do American car reviews.
not to mention the lot of you who are sitting on your fat arses, ripping on the workers at cnet with your stupid, pathetic and unimaginative insults need to grow up, at least they have a job. Seriously I'm 15 years old and i have more sense than most of you American haters.... grow up!
BadgerFri 4 July, 2008 10:49am
How much was the insurance for Rory to drive the Jag. More than the car?
