Crave Podcast 75: Eee wannabes and nerdy chicks
The Crave Podcast has reached its Diamond Jubilee! That's right, we're 75 episodes deep and to celebrate, we're filling the studio with hot nerdy chicks. Shannon Doubleday and Kate Macefield bring the geekstrogen, while Rupert Goodwins and Rory Reid pump out the techtosterone in a veritable orgy of dorkiness. We're so hot right now.
It's a goodie this week. Our panel contemplate whether they'd stop their (alleged) illegal file sharing if warned by their ISP. Would warnings even work? What if someone hijacked your Wi-Fi, leeched a million movies and the authorities disconnected you? We'd be outraged!
Also in the show, it appears someone's finally found a use for the now deceased Sony Aibo. They've put it in old people's homes. Researchers in the US of A have discovered that Sony's virtual dog is just as effective as real hounds at reducing loneliness in the elderly. It doesn't seem to matter that it's hard, plastic and about as dog-like as a Tamagotchi -- the wrinklies love it anyway. We explain the science behind this bizarre phenomenon.
There's more, too. Rory gives us rundown on the voice-controlled car he's been testing, Rupert tells us why he hates the Packard Bell EasyNote XS (yeah, the Eee 'killer), and we do a live tasting session with a difference. Diggnation's got beer, but we've got something far, far more manly. And potentially dangerous. But we eat it anyway.
